《谜中谜》的风格迥异于同种类型的电影，它大胆地在紧张悬念中融入了风趣幽默的喜剧色彩。加利·格兰特和奥黛丽·赫本配合默契，他们的款款深情看起来简直就是真实的 。该片风格悬疑却也不乏幽默，故事一波三折，人物表演和外景处理都颇具功力 。片头设计师Maurice Binder在影片开头将一个惊悚的电影画面转换为2个相互转圈的箭头最后形成了循环的如迷宫一样的图形，这也是对片中加里·格兰特和奥黛丽·赫本错综复杂关系的最好诠释了。
